New York City Opera launches podcast series
This Moment in Opera

(New York, NY, February 11, 2008)  New York City Opera has launched its new podcast series, This Moment in Opera, (http://podcast.nycopera.com) which gives listeners on an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at City Opera’s 2008 spring season. 
 
Hosted by dramaturg Cori Ellison, This Moment In Opera features in-depth discussions, interviews, and “favorite moments” as chosen by some of City Opera's artists, including Daniel Reichard—former "Jersey Boy" turned star of City Opera's Candide, directors Mark Lamos (Madama Butterfly, Tosca), Mark Morris (King Arthur), and Harold Prince (Candide), as well as George Manahan (City Opera Music Director).

 

This Moment in Opera 2008 Podcasts

 

1. Candide

Act I - City Opera baritone Kyle Pfortmiller, who reprises the role of Maximilian

Act II - Daniel Reichard, who recently ended his 3-year run as Bob Gaudio in Broadway’s Jersey Boys to take the title role in Candide

Act III - Harold Prince, who helms City Opera’s production of Candide 

 

2. King Arthur

Act I - Mark Morris, director and choreographer of King Arthur and founder and Artistic Director of the Mark Morris Dance Group
